Barry’s Garage, off Davis Road has been the holy grail for those turned on to music in Bangalore since the sixties.
It was here that FUNGUS AMONGUS, the mood elevating music cyclone that is now storming the streets of post pandemic BlueUru amorphously formed over funfilled gatherings of turned on music lovers.
What a tremendously inspiring experience it is to experience the band FUNGUS AMONGUS. a live electric band with singer songwriter GOPAL NAV of the Grateful Dead gharana doing almost all of the compositions inspired by Carnatic rhythms and ragas and of course the Blues. The double engine power sound of the band comes from its two amazing lead guitarists, SANKETH on slide and electric guitar is just mind blowing, flowing notes and chords seamlessly with such a deep passion for the blues sound and VECTOR SELVAN the prolific six pack electric guitarist inspired by Joe Satriani who has been recording a comp a day for years now. JOEL MIRANDA is on percussion, cheer and timekeeper given his deep understanding and love for the best music on earth. They wouldn’t have sounded half as good without the Bassman SAMARTH, holding , cajoling and slapping the groove for throughout the entire show!
TRIPPINK ALIVE is a cosmopolitan community for musicians, painters, sculptors, dancers, writers, thespians, aspiring filmmakers, dreamers and doers. The brainchild of Ritopriyo Saha, TRIPPINK culminated from a tattoo & art studio into a wholesome community of 300+ creators with the same heart and zeal for the freedom of expression, looking to create a mark for themselves. Since 2007, TRIPPINK has not only grown to become a home for creative people from all corners who have come together and built their own little space, but also a headroom for incessant & exuberant artistic expressions.
